Knowledge Transfer Online Showcasing Module

A key output of the PREP4BLUE project is WaveLinks – a new web-application, which supports users in identifying projects, citizen science initiatives, stakeholders, engagement methods, events, services, policies and funding opportunities of relevance to their Mission-focused activities. To support users in visualising the linkages between the different databases in WaveLinks and provide a better understanding of the Mission Ocean ecosystem, a visualisation tool dubbed the Knowledge Transfer Online Showcasing Module (KTOSM) was developed.

Powered in the background by a pioneering semantic network, the KTOSM enables interactive landscape mapping and development of Pathways to Impact. A visualisation of the KTOSM is pictured above. In the live version, each of the ‘links’ pictured can be clicked on to provide the user with more information.

The KTOSM is aimed at Mission R&I Ocean Project beneficiaries and industry actors looking for solutions that can contribute to Mission objectives. It will allow stakeholders to gain better understanding of how their work fits into Mission Ocean and Waters ecosystem, enhance awareness of other stakeholders working in their area of interest, provide users with an introduction to the legal considerations and regulatory environment they are working in and make them aware of other research that could support their activities.

A demonstration video for the KTOSM can be viewed below.
