KDM was founded in 2004 as an association of marine research institutions in Germany. Since 2018, the association has focused on enhancing the bottom-up strategic capacity of the marine research community as well as networking in the broader international community. KDM strives to bring marine research to the forefront and provide a better understanding of the ocean and how we can address challenges facing this vital resource.
KDM are responsible for the creation of a visionary narrative for the Mission. They will develop an overarching Mission communications strategy to target a variety of audiences across social, digital and traditional media; they will also design and pilot innovative physical and virtual Mission Spaces for the Mission community.
